Located deep in the heart of Melbourne , the once Banana filled vaults alongside the historical Flinders Street Station comes to life every weekend. Like an underground Platform only known to the most discerning clubbers, this is the one and only stop for the night. Once you enter, the distinct acoustics, exotic interior and wonderful service will keep you locked and loaded for a night to remember...
History
The Vaults were built in the 1850s as storage facilities for goods and eventually Bananas. Progressively as the city developed the facilities were used less for storage and taken over as businesses. In the 1980s the vaults became renowned for its party status, ravers and clubbers.
Then in 2002, the Platform One crew came in and won the tender to a very run down, damp and dusty pair of vaults. The vaults were gutted and ceilings sealed, doorways created and eventually the labyrinth was finished. With a state of the art EAW system set up, Eqed and delayed in perfect alignment with the distinctly curved roof, taking advantage of the natural acoustics of the venue.
The interior is now a fusion of Asian and Middle Eastern décor, Moroccan styled lamps, deep red ceilings, lush carpeted walls and distinct little getaways within the venue itself.
Platform One is also run on green power and uses organic fruit and vegetables.
FUNCTIONS
From cocktail parties, corporate functions, birthday celebrations to extensive use of the venue for fashion and hair shows, gallery displays and product launches, the skilled and friendly staff are ever prepared to assist and will ensure your event is enjoyable with precise production and service.
The venue can be structured to suit the size and create the desired atmosphere for each particular event or party. Catering is available at all levels.

The long vault has capabilities to fit up to a 10 piece band and 380 people....
Marrakech Lounge:
Full DJ set up and serve a function of 120. Add in the luxurious VIP glass room and bring it up to 160.
