Stereosonic 2008

onelove and Hardware Corporation are proud to unleash the covers on their starting line-up for Stereosonic 08. Don’t be surprised if they add more exciting news over the coming months including performers and production highlights.

Stereosonic 08 includes some of the best in local and overseas talent. Sneaky Sound System from Sydney is currently taking the world by storm with their new album ‘2’ debuting at number 1 with their explosive live shows.

Germany’s number 1 DJ and often the world’s number 1, Berlin’s Paul van Dyk headlines the overseas contingent. Presenting his semi-live show fused with his own killer productions that have helped shape and define a sound that has rocked the very foundations of dance music over the last 15 years.

Australia’s newest adopted son Carl Cox, who continues to deliver with his latest ‘Carl Cox and Friends’ show, microphone and all. Always a pleaser, Carl mixes crowd faves with tomorrow’s future classics fresh from his ‘Carl Cox and Friends’ night in Ibiza, a highlight of the island. Carl continues to top the worlds DJ Magazine Top 10 list for the 15th year in a row, a deserving award in itself!

Israeli super group Infected Mushroom are back by popular demand, to play in front of 1000s and to show Australia, why these guys will be the next Prodigy. An explosive live show by Duvdev and Erez Eisen with full band and unprecedented energy, which will demonstrate why the guys rocketed into this years ‘DJ Magazine’ top 10. Having toured the world over and doing 180 shows in 12 months.

French wonder kid Vitalic will rock the dance floors with his explosive live show of electro, techno and 4/4 madness alongside ex label boss and electro godfather from Munich, DJ Hell from Gigilo Recordings. Sydney’s favourite sons Infusion return from more Northern Hemisphere festival dates whilst galactic superstars Midnight Juggernauts play Brisbane and Perth.

Germany’s current magazine cover stars Booka Shade will deliver their new live show to celebrate the release of their amazing 3rd studio album ‘The Sun and the Neon Light’ currently getting a hammering on JJJ. Italy’s current number 1 export blowing up right now are The Crookers. On Fatboy Slim’s ‘Southern Fried’ label, they are the new mash up kings and THE buzz act of 2008.

Trance super-star on Paul van Dyk’s ‘Vandit’ label, Giuseppe Ottaviani plays the East Coast with his infectious grooves and NU NRG classics. The ‘unofficial’ number 1 live trance act, Giuseppe doesn’t poll the votes because he’s not a computer programmer from Above, go figure.

The Baltimore sound has generated plenty of interest of late with megastars galore lining up to take the prize but we have secured none other that legend Dave Nada and Devlin & Dark from the Baltimore Bass Connection and Spank Rock outfits. A sound well worth getting down to!

Pnau with their mind blowing live show (the undisputed highlight at ‘Splendour in the Grass’) play Brisbane and Perth. ‘Bodyrockers’ founder and now solo superstar Kaz James brings the full band live show to Stereosonic (unfortunately, without Macy Gray who he has collaborated with on his new album ‘If They Knew’). His current track ‘We Hold On’ is blowing up nationally, following-up his #1 Club hit ‘Breathe.’

Ed Banger Records continues to impress with latest label hopes, Chicago legend DJ Funk and Mr Maqs from France. Ed Banger had a big year in 2007 with the likes of Justice and Pedro Winter and continues to shine with new signings Mr Maqs and DJ Funk.

One of the buzz highlights of Ibiza this year was Ireland’s supergroup The Japanese Popstars alongside ‘Mixmag’ magazine’s darlings of Australia, TV Rock featuring Grant Smillie and Ivan Gough. Mowgli brings up the glitch minimal sound, whilst Holland’s latest onelove hit DJ Don Diablo hits the decks nationally with his awesome mix of electro, house and twisted dance floor movers.

Whilst one of ‘Modular Records’ latest awesome signings Headman returns to Oz. New York super producer and remixer (and a top DJ and bloke too), Tommie Sunshine plays Stereosonic rocking dancefloors. His wizardry can be found on onelove’s CD series, selling in excess of 60,000 units across Australia and Asia.

Ajax from Sydney joins the fold with onelove resident and all-round lady-killer Andy Murphy. VJ Olaffalo tours nationally with his visual feast showing us why he has travelled the world in search of digital motion. Last but by no mean least, Chardy who continues to rise up the inthemix Australian DJ charts, recently moved up to number 9, joins the line-up nationally.
